At Platform for Social Change, we believe that global changes begin with local initiatives, so we help social entrepreneurs find socially useful ideas and implement them in sustainable and steadily growing projects. By combining education, mentoring and investment support, we support social entrepreneurs in Ukraine in finding impactful ideas and turning them into sustainable projects. Our mission is to turn social entrepreneurship into a platform for developing local initiatives to drive global change.
Our mission and principles are strongly aligned with the ESIC project. ESIC directly tackles the future of the social economy by emphasizing the reskilling and upskilling of entrepreneurs and the workforce in the social economy to embrace digital and green changes. Our mission to provide Ukrainian social entrepreneurs with the resources they need to effect good change in their communities is in line with the project’s annual target of empowering 5% of the workforce with new social innovation skills and knowledge.
Throughout the ESIC project, Platform for Social Change draws on its knowledge of social entrepreneurship to make contributions in several areas. Our role includes:
- Supporting project implementation: we collaborate with our partners, providing guidance and expertise to ensure the successful implementation of project goals.
- Conducting research: we conduct research on Ukraine’s social innovation sector in order to match the project with the particular requirements of Ukrainian social entrepreneurs.
- Promoting social entrepreneurship as a career path: we encourage people to take part in socially innovative projects by showcasing social entrepreneurship as a rewarding and significant career path.
- Capacity-building and educational support: we support capacity-building programs development and refine educational materials, ensuring they meet the needs of the social economy.
- Developing strategies (Local Action Plans) for the development of the social and solidarity economy at the local level. Platform recognises the pivotal role of social economy to accomplish the sustainable development goals and promote local development, by fostering social economy ecosystems and clusters at regional and local scales.
Through our involvement, we work to position Ukrainian social enterprises as leaders in sustainable, impactful innovation. Together with the ESIC, we aim to create a curriculum that not only empowers social entrepreneurs but also drives positive change across Europe and beyond.
Our collaboration with ESIC has reinforced our vision of local initiatives creating a global impact. Together with the project members we hope to further strengthen the social economy and empower more individuals to choose careers dedicated to social good.
