On 14 to 15 October, the European Social Innovation Campus (ESIC) project’s team came together in Helsinki, Finland, for a bootcamp session to work on the project’s final curriculum.
Co-Creating in Helsinki
Hosted by project coordinator Diaconia University of Applied Sciences (DIAK), the bootcamp brought together consortium members from across Europe to collaboratively shape the ESIC curriculum. Discussions focused on designing dedicated learning pathways, defining the content and structure of the curriculum modules, and addressing the needs of the diverse students, educators and practitioners who will use these resources.
The final product of the project will include a website providing access to all ESIC resources, alongside Howspace, an online learning platform designed to guide learners as they develop their social innovation competencies. Accessibility and inclusivity are considered throughout this process, with the needs of students with special needs also taken into account in the development of the final product.
DIAK’s reception of the consortium in Helsinki was accompanied by a traditionally Finnish sauna visit and briefly after a dinner at Allas seaside restaurant, featuring a delicious menu and many conversations about the importance of social innovation education across Europe. Coming together in the Finnish capital allowed the ESIC team to co-create important progress and enjoy the ESIC team spirit in person.
