Our research revealed a comprehensive set of findings related to attitudes, skills, and knowledge essential for social entrepreneurs as social innovation leaders. The literature discusses how they can act as effective and ethical leaders, whilst keeping an entrepreneurial and innovative-thinking spirit. Some papers point out that social entrepreneurs need to be inclusive and be able to work together with a variety of societal stakeholders, whilst having the proper resilience and adeptness to overcome challenges and find their way through the complex maze of social innovation processes. We find there is a variety of organizational, communicative, strategic management, and innovation management skills needed in particular global contexts, indicating there is a need for appropriate cultural nuances and understanding within specific strategic business approaches. Furthermore, we find that sustainability and partnership development expertise are paramount for social innovation.
